Payments and policies overview
Bookedly helps tutors and students keep payment and lesson records organized, but each tutor is responsible for clearly communicating their own lesson terms.
What students should check before booking
Section titled “What students should check before booking”- What the offer includes
- Lesson duration
- Price and payment method
- Whether payment is due before or after booking
- Cancellation and rescheduling rules
- What happens if the student misses a lesson
What tutors should state clearly
Section titled “What tutors should state clearly”- Accepted payment methods
- When payment is due
- Whether pay-later is available
- How cancellation and no-show rules work
- Whether missed lessons use a credit
- How refunds or credits are handled
Manual/offline payment
Section titled “Manual/offline payment”Manual/offline payment means the payment happens outside automated card checkout and is then tracked in Bookedly. Tutors should record or verify payment only after money has actually been received.
Pay-later balances
Section titled “Pay-later balances”If pay-later is available, the tutor and student should agree when the balance is due and how it will be paid. Students should keep their own proof of payment.
Cancellations and refunds
Section titled “Cancellations and refunds”Cancellation and refund outcomes depend on the tutor’s offer terms and the status of the booking or payment. Bookedly support can help investigate records or technical issues, but it does not replace the tutor’s communicated policy.
No-shows
Section titled “No-shows”A no-show usually means the student missed a scheduled lesson without cancelling in time. Tutors should use no-show only when it matches the policy they gave the student before booking.
Payment safety
Section titled “Payment safety”Never store or send passwords, full card numbers, bank login details, or private payment credentials in Bookedly notes, files, messages, or support requests.
